School is out and everyone is beginning to come out of exam hibernation. I’m happy to report that most of us came out alive this year baring only minor battle wounds.
Some of those wounds were to our wardrobes. Generally, when you rip your favorite pair of pants, it is time to say goodbye. Not for this Fashionisto. He doesn’t let a little tear stand between him and his favorite jeans.
Since most college guys probably don’t have a needle and thread lying around (much less sewing skills) this Fashionisto had to resort to something a little more accessible – dental floss. It makes perfect sense if you think about it. It’s strong, familiar and present in every dorm room…well, should be present in every dorm room.
Today’s Fashionisto paired his deep burgundy jeans complete with dental floss stitching down the side with a vintage Ramones T-shirt from 1980. He added a basic black zip-up hoodie and a vintage faded denim vest to keep the vibe fairly relaxed and casual.
If you want to get this Fashionisto’s look, find yourself a vintage Ramones T-shirt. If you can’t afford one of the originals, it’s okay. Just grab a reproduction! Next, layer a black hoodie and vintage Levi’s denim vest on top. Finally, add a sleek pair of 7 For All Mankind coated straight-leg jeans in burgundy.
I wouldn’t recommend ripping these coated denim beauties to mimic today’s Fashionisto’s pants. You can always add the dental floss stitching if they rip years down the road.
