Ahhhh the look and feel of autumn! Time to light those Pumpkin Caramel Latte scented candles as you drink your Starbucks Pumpkin Caramel Latte. As the leaves turn to bright shades of yellow, brown and the most beautiful shades of red, it’s important to recognize that a lot of fashion trends take after inspirations from nature. From the perfect berry lip to the softest burgundy sweater, red is fall’s new “it” color. If you’re not used to incorporating red into your wardrobe, it’s totally okay to take baby steps with applying this daring color to your style.
Take our Fashionista today; she looks like she could be the main character of a Taylor Swift music video. She looks chic in all black with a cozy, gray sweater and keeps her style down to earth with flip flops. But the real showstopper? It’s the red, printed scarf casually draped around her neck. Scarves can be found everywhere these days. Known for there versatility in transforming an outfit, scarves can be tied multiple ways around your neck, can be knotted on your purse, or worn as a head piece. Red is the ultimate color to draw people’s eyes to the highlight of your outfit. Similar styles can be found in stores such as American Eagle Outfitters and higher end brands such as Alexander McQueen; whatever the price range, statement scarves are a fall essential. If it’s starting to get colder in your area, look for scarves made of wool or thick, loop scarves. For the immaculate black base, my favorite black skinny jeans are from Cheap Monday and my favorite black tees are from Alexander Wang.
I am the biggest advocate for an all black look but it’s important to add color to your wardrobe. Start off with statement pieces such as necklaces and scarves in bold colors such as pink, green and blue. Use all the colors of the rainbow to paint up your wardrobe and create your own paradise. And if you mix all the colors together, you get black — which is my paradise.
