STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Red and Green Isn’t Just For Christmas Anymore

Style Advice of the Week

Red and green isn’t just for Christmas, Fashionistas! This week’s Fashionista looks cute, chic and not a bit Christmas-y. Combining red and green was once reserved for the holiday season, but, when combined well, this color pairing can look fresh and cozy.

This Fashionista pairs her dark green skinny jeans with bright red suede booties. Green jeans are a great new closet staple, and can be as versatile as black or blue jeans. Dark green can look almost black, and can be paired with a whole rainbow of colors, including red. This Fashionista’s bright red booties add just enough of that contrasting color and really pop, making her outfit much more fun than it would be if just paired with black booties. While a red suede bootie might not be a basic, it is a fun shoe that can be paired with jeans or with a flirty dress for a night out. If you want a more muted color, try a dark red bootie.

This CollegeFashionista pairs her colored bottoms and bright shoes with a classic white button-down shirt and blazer. These two items are great basics, and the white shirt has been personalized a bit with the addition of pearls as buttons. Fun buttons give this traditional shirt a new, fun twist, but a regular old white button down is great as well!

A black blazer is another item great to have in your closet, and a great one to invest in. It can be dressed up or down, like the red booties. A blazer is professional and polished looking, but can be fun when paired with an outfit like this Fashionistas’. If you don’t want a super traditional blazer, try one in a fun color or one with leather or contrasting accents.

To finish off her look, this Fashionista added a blue handbag and some cute milkmaid braids.
