STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ready, Set, Pop!

2015 was definitely a year full of new experiences, adventures and lessons for me, and I hope that it was the same for all of you. With that being said, why not welcome this exciting new year with new style?

I go to a school right in the heart of the beautiful, yet very cold, Chicago.  As temperatures are continuously dropping, it is becoming harder to dress stylishly. Most people I run into on campus have their outfits hidden under warm parkas, scarves and hats.  The main priority for everyone in Chicago is to remain warm until the gorgeous Chicago spring weather approaches in April (or May, because you can never guess the weather in this city).

As I was strolling through campus after a delicious lunch, I ran into this trendy Fashionista. The very first thing that caught my eye was her gorgeous bright red patent leather handbag, which stood out on a gloomy day. After conversing for few minutes, I took a closer look at her outfit. I loved the top-to-bottom neutral items. She kept her outfit very simple with a plain knit sweater and camel-colored pants, which she paired with black over-the-knee boots. If you look more closely, you can see that she is wearing a black tank top under her sweater that perfectly matches her boots. To give her outfit an edgy feel, she finished her look with a patterned coat and a bright, eye-catching purse..

This look is very easy to put together, and just by adding an edgy accessory you can stand out in the crowd.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “If you think your outfit is a bit simple then play around and add something that pops out, whether it is the design, color or shape of the accessory.”
