Style Advice of the Week

Tired of that plain old maxi skirt? Opting for an m-slit can change the whole game. Pick a bright summer color or pattern and you’re ready to hit the road.

A single slit on the side of a maxi can often feel daring enough that adding a second slit might seem out of the question. I would argue the contrary however: a double-slitted skirt adds a touch of uniqueness that will have your fellow Fashionistas rethinking their traditional cut. The front panel provides plenty of coverage to the inner thighs while simultaneously showing the full length of the legs.

Movement plays a key role when wearing any kind of maxi skirt. When I spotted this Fashionista the first thing I noticed was the way that her skirt flowed out around her legs while walking. Legs are, without question, one of the sexiest parts of the body and having two slits instead of one helps to show them off every step of the way.

Right away I knew this Fashionista was a risk-taker, and there is no doubt that she can rock some dangerously high slits. At 5’1”, she wears the maxi with a taller Steve Madden wedged sandal to get some amazing height.  The embroidered crop is the perfect piece to pair with in the warm summer season. It’s easy to fall into a daily routine of shorts and tanks, but this outfit is proof that your quick go-to pieces aren’t the only way to look adorable and show some skin.
