STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Put It in Neutral

And just like that, with the blink of an eye, 2016 is coming to a close. As with the end of any year, many people take the time to reflect and look back on what they’ve accomplished and what they’ve learned. As my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista comes to an end, I can’t help but be grateful for all of the awesome experience I’ve gotten, the amazing tips I’ve learned and the rad individuals I’ve had the opportunity to have interacted with.

It’s officially crunch time. With only two to three weeks left of the fall semester, students around the world are being hit left and right with due dates, final exams and a ridiculous amount of stress. Seemingly unfazed by the hectic atmosphere on campus, this Fashionista was all smiles walking around with her headphones in. She kept her outfit simple rocking cropped skinny jeans, a neutral colored t-shirt and a simple lightweight black jacket. A thin jacket is perfect for adding an extra layer for a brisk and breezy day on campus. The colors she chose to pair together are neutral and work well, especially for fall. She accessorized simply with a classic black choker, a gold watch and a gold Alex and Ani bracelet. To go along with her ensemble, her nails were perfectly painted black and decorated with white geometric lines, making the entire look cohesively minimal.

As far as my style advice for the week goes, dressing simply and comfortably is the way to go! With so much going on and so many things to keep track of, the last thing you want to worry about is your outfit. Black skinny jeans are a staple piece in my closet and pairing them with a plain T-shirt, cool sneakers and a warm cardigan is the easiest way to look put together but also stay super cozy.

With every end comes new beginnings! I can’t wait to see what kind of trends the new year brings and what kind of opportunities and experiences 2017 has in store!
