Lately, I’ve had a serious travel bug. I love exploring hidden cities and wrapping myself in prints inspired by Mexico, France or Greece. I try to make new fashion decisions that weave these rich colors and beautiful fabrics into my everyday clothing, morphing an outfit into the ultimate, sophisticated cool. What’s not to love about Italian leather and Spanish prints?
This crinkly Free People button-down blouse is simply gorgeous with its ruffled collar, necktie and detailed lace. Notice how this Fashionista loosely ties the front of her sleeveless tank to add texture and an edgy vibe. The back of her blouse flows open in the back, which emphasizes this Fashionista’s summer tan. She also threw on her boyfriend fit, white denim shorts, which continues to carry her look into the comfort zone. This Fashionista’s espadrilles are the key player in this look. J.Crew kept the comfy, Spanish inspired rubber-soled shoes classic, but covered them in bright, trendy prints in order to create a modern feel. To top it off, this Fashionista fastened a dramatic, black belt around her waist to add contrast and wore her favorite jewels: a clear, dazzling necklace, statement ring and layered bracelets.
An all white outfit with a dash of color is the perfect recipe for a summer outfit. The Victorian inspired blouse and slouchy shorts paired with her bright espadrilles is an unexpected mix, but the casual feel it creates works perfectly. Her loose curls and light makeup also add a natural accent to this Fashionista’s look.
When styling yourself, consider picking a top covered with detail, lace and embroidery. This way, you give the all white look texture and make your outfit unique and exciting. Throw on some comfortable shorts and you are good to go. In my eyes, shoes are always the most exciting part of the look that complete the outfit. Espadrilles can’t be any more perfect for the summer; they are lightweight, breathable and come in bright, happy prints as well.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’ve always loved throwing in unexpected elements to my outfits, an accent that makes someone walking by take a second look and think, ‘I never would’ve thought to put that together.’ Summer is the perfect time to experiment with pops of color, monochromatic styles and eccentric patterns.”
