STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Prints and Patterns

January 19th, 2015 at 2:00am

Now that the holidays are officially over, Fashionistas are still seeking for that pop of sparkle or glam in their wardrobe essentials.

This Fashionista managed to look stylish and super-chic even on a chilly winter day. Her accessories gave her outfit the extra pop it needed. Although she is only wearing a body chain, knee high socks and textured stockings her outfit screams self-confidence.

Her baseball T-shirt is the focal point of the outfit and it’s my favorite because it can be styled in so many different ways. The body chain is must-have for the season. The body chain is such an edgy item that has been trending for quite awhile now. Best of all, it’s a versatile piece that can be worn for every occasion whether it’s thrown over a simple T-shirt or worn with a bikini for a more sexy look.

The stockings tie the outfit together nicely for instance, the Fashionista could have simply worn a pair of leggings or even a pair of plain denim jeans. However she took a more different fashionable approach. The stockings are super cute and give the plain striped baseball T-shirt a more vivid pop.

If you want to incorporate wedge booties into your everyday wardrobe, wear it with some knee-highs just like this Fashionista does. She pairs her booties with a pair of patterned tights and knee-highs to make the look more comfortable due to the cold New York weather.

All of the pieces and colors this Fashionista combines complement each other so well. The final touch is a deep burgundy colored bag which is a must-have color for the season. It’s perfect for any occasion, especially since school is resuming shortly!

So remember to feel comfortable and confident in whatever you wear. But be sure to take some fashion risks because sometimes adding some simple detailing such as bold prints and patterns make your outfit more diverse.
