As the temperatures have dropped I’ve seen an increase in not-so-great fashion for both the male and female student population. Winter clothing is supposed to be fun to wear. I mean how else are we going to get through walking to class in freezing temperatures? In the wise words of Maria Sharapova, “When you look good, you feel good.” I could not agree more with this statement. Maybe this winter weather makes you wish you were a bear so hibernation was actually socially acceptable, but sadly humans didn’t adopt this trait. Set that iPhone alarm just a few minutes early to make time to look your best. Whether it’s dressing up for class or an interview, how you present yourself is a way of saying who you are and who you strive to be. I know that we’re still college students, but It’s important to dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
This Fashionisto is straying away from the norm of increasingly bad winter attire. He looks presentable, while still having a unique style that will be sure to help him stand out where ever he goes. His patterned button-down makes a statement without being over the top. It is easy to become extremely obnoxious with bold prints. When done right, a great patterned shirt makes an ensemble interesting.
He completes his outfit with hunter green twill pants, an awesome red Coach backpack, a vintage pocket watch necklace, a leather belt and oxfords. These items add flair to the ensemble. This Fashionisto definitely stands out from the sea of guys that constantly look like they are about to hit the gym.
This week, I urge you to be fashionable even though it’s cold. Experiment with a bolder print. When you take risks with what you wear, people will notice.
