STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Prim, Proper And Patriotic

Confession time: looking put together in the dog days of summer sometimes takes a backseat to relaxation in my life. Even the most dedicated Fashionista will choose comfort over cutting edge when the thermometer hits the 90s and the humidity hangs around. If anyone out there finds themselves repeatedly choosing worn out flip flops and exercise shorts over sundresses and espadrilles lately, look no further than this Fashionista for advice on beating the summer blues. After all, nothing says summer like a patriotic color palette! The message for this week is to always go the extra mile because it just feels good to give it your all. Feeling confident in yourself is the key to a perfect day.

This Fashionista looks picture perfect in our country’s colors. She’s wearing a navy trapeze dress with an embroidered lace overlay. She pairs it with neutral braided sandals. Her curly hair is twisted into a topknot and she’s rocking winged eyes with a bright red lip. What I love about this ensemble is how all the colors tie in together. Wearing a red, white and blue outfit outside of the Fourth of July can sometimes look more campy than fashionable but this Fashionista makes it look oh-so-stylish. What’s more, she says that despite the dress’s elegant silhouette, it’s super comfortable to wear. Can you say win-win? The dress is a 10, the shoes are a 10 and the hair and makeup are definitely a 10. And most importantly, her confidence is off the charts.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Make sure you like what you wear, and enjoy and feel comfortable in it. And remember, cute and comfortable aren’t mutually exclusive.”
