STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pretty Patterned Princess

Style Advice of the Week

Now that we are finally in the swing of spring, I thought I would display a continuation of my post from last week on appropriate transition ensembles to accompany the sunny rays that are now showing admits the still somewhat chilly temperatures. Finding combinations that meet our excitement from saying goodbye to winter and our sometimes long day of classes can be a battle all its own. I’ve loved seeing Fashionistas throughout campus experimenting with different creations entirely of their own. I can’t help but continue my obsession with lighter sweaters to start spring and this patterned one took my love for them way up.

There is no better way to add some dimension to your sweater collection than with interesting patterns that are filled with color. Stripes, plaids and polka dots are some of my favorites but this aztec piece with its fringe accent definitely makes my list too. This type of pattern is perfect to establish a bohemian look suitable for day or night. Matthew Williamson, the designer, is known for his vibrant and stunning aztec patterned lines and from him this trend has spread. Maxis, purses, head wraps and dresses can be found in this style and personally I feel it is essential to start your warm weather wardrobe.

Just like my previous Fashionista, this one yet again mastered the transition of springtime style with college classroom comfort. She paired dark wash skinnies with her aztec sweater filled with striking blacks, terracotta oranges and faded turquoises under a plain white T-shirt to make the pattern stand out even more. As you all know, I find scarves to be a hidden secret to finishing a look and this Fashionista utilized a simple cream one along with knee-high black leather boots to accessorize. I have yet to find a staple black boot but now I successfully can begin my search after seeing hers! To add to the hippie feel she wears multiple simple rings and her hair in a sun-kissed beach wave.

The one-of-a-kind arrangements of aztec patterned articles make them even more appealing to style-obsessed trendsetter everywhere. I love wearing clothing that can’t be found in any old store and every aztec piece is different from the next. These types of sweaters are another kind to increase your collection and to make the start of spring even more fun and exciting. So to all you trendsetters out there, pair one of these sweaters with anything from jeans to solid maxis and continue into spring with your sunshine filled fashion.
