STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pretty Little Lace

Style Advice of the Week

This time of year school work is at an all time high. You’re reaching the peak of your workload in most of your classes, and it seems like everyday you have a different presentation or a different project due. Although it can be tempting to get stuck in the lull of yoga pants and a hoodie, don’t. One of the best ways to stay motivated is to dress for success. From the spunky flats to the adorable dress this outfit sticks out in a sea of jeans and sweats.

This Fashionista was down right adorable. Her dress was a great pink number from Charlotte Russe with a cap-sleeve and a lace overlay. Everyone should own a little skater dress like this; it is flattering on all figures, and the pastel pink is a wonderful soft color for spring. Another cute bit about it is the flirty back. It crosses over and leaves a little open section at the waist making for a fun surprise when twirled around.

Although the back is adorable, this Fashionista chose to cover it over with a simple black cardigan. I will say this is a wise choose as a light over sweater is an easy way to stay layered in the spring weather or to stay looking professional when meeting with your professor. In either scenario you’re “covered.”

One of the other inspiring elements of this look was the accessories. She chose to wear a pair of Nine West cheetah ballet flats. Animal print has been all the rage and it’s obvious why. It goes great with black, red, gold, neutrals or even a soft pink! In this case the flats add a bit of spunk to her otherwise conservative look. If you’re not looking to spend an arm and a leg you can almost always find a pair of flats like this at Target for a great price.

As for her jewelry she went with a combination of pink, opal and rose gold. She was wearing a pair of light pink studs, a great gold ring with an opal stone and the best part, her matching gold bracelets. What better way to accent a dainty look like this then with some dainty stacked bangles? The rhinestone infinity sign was a personal favorite.

So next time you need a compromise between looking cute and appropriate, try pairing some animal print with a pretty little lace dress like this. I promise you won’t need to be giving a presentation for the whole class to be staring at you!
