STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pretty in Peplum

Style Advice of the Week

As we all know, Michigan winter is nothing short of arctic. Thanks to the recent snow-pocalypse, it has been even colder here in Ann Arbor than usual. I think I’m not the only one saying where is spring break! Thankfully, over the past few days the temperatures have risen which means the puffy layers have come off and the cute outfits are being revealed.

This Fashionista is doing just that with her peplum look. Peplums are perfect for going out and going to class because they come in so many varieties. They give you great definition in the waist without feeling uncomfortable in a tight top. Also, peplums aren’t limited to tops, they come in dresses too! This way, you can choose which look is right for you.

This Fashionista chose a classic and preppy peplum with a small triangle cut out at the neckline which adds detail and makes her top not look high on her neck. The electric blue color adds a pop to the outfit and offsets her light blonde hair. She paired her peplum with dark jeans and brown leather heeled boots for a more casual and relaxed look.

You can always bring this look from day to night by swapping dark jeans for black skinny pants. Also, you can grab some peep toe heels instead of boots. Instead of brown shoes, you could also choose a color that matches your peplum top to pull the outfit together.

There are so many ways to wear a pretty peplum: day, night, dress, top! The options are there, you just have to pick what is perfect for you! I know I will be spotted in peplum this season.
