STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pops of Color

June 15th, 2015 at 2:00am

If you are anything like me and are mainly only interested in neutral colored pieces, it is nice to know that adding even the tiniest pop of color can complete any look and make it more summer-appropriate. Spice up any look by combining earth tones with a bright pop of color in the shoes. Implementing color in this way will allow for you to avoid overdoing it with excessive or clashing colors.

Recently, this trend has been widely popular on the runway, especially in Roland Mouret’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show. In this show, Mouret displayed many classic black and white looks with added pops of color. The designer chose blue for the added color in each look. This Fashionisto made a similar subconscious style-driven decision to add blue to his look, as well!

While it is perfect for the summer, this trend is one that any Fashionista or Fashionisto can utilize no matter what the season. To beat the heat while still looking as stylish as ever, this Fashionisto chose to pair chino jogger pants with a simple gray light T-shirt. To tie in that extra pop of color, he chose a blue pair of Saucony sneakers. To complete the look, he chose a silver Burberry watch as the perfect accessory.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “To balance off a neutral colored look, choose one bright and bold colored piece to tie it all in. One bright piece will add just the right amount of color into any outfit.”
