STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pop of Color

Everyone loves to layer. It is the most practical way to get dressed in the morning; you wear multiple light layers, and you stay comfortable and look chic. This blue kimono is a great way to work the festival-inspired trend. It is lightweight and has a great pattern. Paired with this casual dress, this outfit is cute and comfortable. It can easily be dressed up or down depending on the accessories you pair with it.

We’ve been seeing festival-inspired looks take on the real-world so much over the past few years. Thanks to festivals, like Coachella and Lollapalooza, the effortless style has become increasingly popular. At those festivals, we see people wearing all sorts of different clothing items: things that they can be comfortable in all day, and can go from heat of the day to cooler night.

I love the flair this kimono gives to the outfit. The bright color stands out, and the pattern gives dimension to the otherwise simple ensemble. A comfortable pair of Vans will add a casualness to the outfit to make it even more Coachella-worthy. The shoes work well with the bright blue of the kimono and really let it be the stand out piece. A necklace and a classic pair of sunglasses are simple, but a chic addition. Both the dress and kimono are lightweight and perfect, spring-to-summer transitional pieces.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “If you’re trying to follow a trend make sure that you keep your own personal style in mind. I love to be comfortable, so this outfit is perfect.”
