STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Ponchos and Pastels

The poncho is the most classic piece of clothing, and it has been highly associated with the Mexican origin for several decades. That being said, it truly has transformed into a popular clothing piece in the fashion industry. This poncho piece first became popular as early as in the late ’60s and finally emerged again as a popular trend this year. With many different designs and patterns, you can’t go wrong with a poncho!

Although one would not typically go for a poncho in their closet in the middle of the summer, there are plenty of ponchos out there that are light and airy enough to wear to stay comfortable during the heat. Weather you are lounging around, getting ready for a night out of town or need a funky bathing suit cover-up, a summer poncho is the perfect attire for the job.

This Fashionista is rocking a neutral poncho with a skin-tight pale pink dress. The lightness of the poncho’s fabric makes the outfit look unforced yet stylish. The fringe embellishments add that boho touch to her look and offset the tightness of her dress. The pale pink pastel color in her dress paired with her neutral poncho makes her look completely put together. To accessorize, she added a funky, chunky, silver necklace and earrings to draw attention look and to tie it all together she added some neutral Vera Wang heels to give her height.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Ponchos are a huge part of my wardrobe. They are so easy to wear and extremely useful for many different occasions. Ponchos are a unique way to spice up any outfit you are wearing.”
