STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Picasso My Palazzo

So here we are again, getting dressed for the day and facing the daily challenges— too hot for skinny jeans, too classy for booty shorts, too busy to iron linen pants. What is a girl to do? Well, today I am here to suggest the perfect alternative; beat the heat and slip into a cute pair of palazzo pants. These loose fitting trousers are the perfect decision on a hot summer day for any occasion. Dress it up or dress it down because the styling options are endless with this versatile piece.

Palazzo pants can be traced back to the 1930s. They were introduced by Coco Chanel, but definitely made their mark on the history of fashion and became an iconic look in the 1970s through the 1980s. Although these pants are a statement, step it up and rock a pair of printed palazzo pants (that was quite the alliteration there). Let your trousers be the epicenter of attention while you turn heads as you strut by. Don’t be shy; let prints, colors and designs be your friends, hence the title, “Picasso my Palazzo!” It’s college and we are way too young to play it safe.

This Fashionista ditched being a typical Jane and definitely caught eyes as she waited for the bus. The artwork on her pants is impossible to ignore. Looking and feeling cool, she pairs the flowy pants with a white, cap-sleeved crop top. She completes the look by keeping her accessories simple with a beautiful Micheal Kors leather tote and copper link bracelet.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “A pair of palazzo pants, especially one with bold patterns or prints, doesn’t need to be paired with anything fussy. Keep the top piece simple to complement the trousers, not compete with it.”
