STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Peter Pan Style Advice

Style Advice of the Week

Instead of throwing on the usual, plain old tee, swap it for a Peter Pan collared shirt instead! An easy way to dress up a casual outfit without looking too business-like is to choose a shirt with a Peter Pan collar, such as this sweet polka-dotted scalloped shirt from Bob’s in Billerica Massachusetts. Designers such as Ralph Lauren and Rebecca Minkoff have shown their love for the Peter Pan collar for spring 2013 runways so you know it’s a trend you do not want to miss out on.

The store does not have a website, but luckily I was able to find other online stores with shirts just as adorable! Forever 21 carries this Pleated Peter Pan Collar Shirt. Aside from the collar, there are also the pleated sleeves and buttons down the back!

Okay readers: If you are standing up or multitasking, I am going to need your full attention for this next shirt. It is lace, has buttons down the back and is equipped with a Peter Pan collar. It is also from Target. “As in the most affordable store ever?” I am jumping for joy as well. This lace top by Xhilaration is getting me super excited for the warm weather!

Already bought a bunch of shirts and wish you had caught on to the Peter Pan collar trend beforehand? Problem solved! Invest in a Peter Pan collar necklace from Anthropologie. You can easily wear it on any shirt to take your look from a casual T-shirt to a dressed up top. I love this Acacia Crochet Collar and am hoping my mom is reading this. (Please, mom?)

On the subject of Peter Pan, I will leave you all with an inspirational quote by Peter Pan himself: “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” Never doubt an outfit choice and rock every look you own!
