STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Pedal To The Metal

While people might not have gotten the flying cars or giant light bulb hair-do predictions right, the fashion forecasters of the past did know a thing or two about color. Their predictons showed us in head to toe metallic. While that might not be the case yet, metallics have been sprinkled across this millennium, and they are in full swing right now.

This Fashionisto is showing off the metallic trend with his puffer jacket. This down-filled coat is ready to keep him warm in the trek across campus since we still don’t have heated hover cars to take us to class yet. He keeps with the futuristic theme by showing off a galaxy print bucket hat, and goes one step further to tie the outfit together with blue pants. This Fashionisto really knows how to coordinate an outfit.

Wearing a metallic silver puffer coat on your first venture into metallics might seem a little daunting. That is why there are tons of different accessories to ease you into the wonderful futuristic world. One of my favorite ways to wear the metallic trend is shoes. A pair of metallic loafers would look perfect with an otherwise laid back outfit. If that is still too bold, try a metallic clutch or handbag.

There is even a solution if you’re a little more relaxed and boho about your style! Metallic temporary tattoos are a cool and funky way to mix in metallics, especially when you mix and match gold with silver.

Whether it’s on the runway of a fall 2015 fashion show or walking the sidewalks of campus, there is always a way to put the pedal to the metal and rock something metallic.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “More often than not, people don’t really care what you’re wearing. So if you’re afraid to wear something bold, just remember that you probably care more than they do.”
