STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Peacoat Weather

Style Advice of the Week

It’s amazing to witness the change in students’ wardrobes as the weather gets just a bit colder in Gainesville. Suddenly, people are wearing layers, coats and even legitimate pairs of pants. It’s a whole new world.

I spotted this Fashionista on campus rocking a beautiful head to toe look. Complete with layers, booties and an actual coat, her outfit is the epitome of fall/winter style. Another great aspect of this Fashionista’s look is that it shows just how simple (yet chic) a winter outfit can be. You don’t have to look like you’re wearing too many layers. We all know that no one wants to look bulky.

This Fashionista shows us how to stay warm and chic. To start recreating this type of look, find a fabulous peacoat for those chilly morning walks to class. This option from J.Crew would be perfect for staying cozy and looking fabulous all at once. Choose whatever color suits your fancy!

For layers, find yourself a great pair of leggings and an oversized button-down. Try a pair of leather leggings for a trendy and high-end feel. This pair from ASOS would look cute with your button-down or an oversized sweater and over the knee boots. A classic Gap button-down would work in an outfit like this Fashionista’s as well as countless other looks, so don’t be afraid to experiment.

To top off your whole look, opt for some great accessories. This Fashionista went with a gold chain necklace but feel free to go for something completely different. Maybe try a fierce pair of earrings instead. This pair from Loren Hope would be sure to add the perfect amount of sparkle to any outfit.
