Style Advice of the Week

This is it folks, it’s the home stretch. In the final days of the academic semester it is quite obvious that students are catching spring fever, jeans are being rolled up and tank tops are being taken out. Yes we may be studying for finals but at least we can look cute doing it. Well you know what they say, April showers bring May flowers and seeing as it is the first official Monday of May it is only appropriate that this Fashionista took the saying literally.

This girl has it all going on, from her floral accents to her perfectly, peachy pants her outfit screams spring from head to toe. But before we jump into the clothes we must first talk about the footwear. We all get a little anxious to pull out our summer sandals this time of year but don’t forget that a pair of casual sneakers are the perfect transition shoe. When you’re sick of your boots but it’s not quite warm enough for open toes, a pair of sneakers like these classic gray canvas Ked’s are the best solution.

Just above her cute little kicks are her wonderful colored jeans. A pair of pastel colored denim is a must have for spring. A softer color like this pair is not only adorable but really easy to coordinate with. Oh and did I mention it is the perfect way to get away with rocking denim on denim? They look flawless when paired with a classic jean jacket like this. Another fun way to think spring besides just color is to bring back the capri look. This Fashionista styled her jeans by giving them a little cuff at the bottom, proving to us all that showing a little ankle is still completely acceptable.

Now onto to her flirty floral tank. The crochet detailing at the neck line adds a fun bit of texture to her ensemble. Also the combination of colors in the print tie together her sky blue nails and peachy bottoms perfectly.

The floral trend carried over into her jewelry choice as well. I mean what better way to embrace the May flowers than to dress in them? So to keep it simple but pulled together she went with a pair of dainty cream rose studs from Forever 21 to top it all off. Side note — her choice to pull her hair half back was the perfect way to put those little gems on display.

So next time you’re out for a stroll around campus grab a pair of sneakers, a flowing floral top and a fun pair of jeans, and don’t be afraid to roll them up a tad. You’ll be feeling peachy keen and looking fresh as a flower in no time!
