For a recent class trip to Paris, I spent more time worrying about what I would wear each day than I did about my actual schoolwork. Taking inspiration from classic Audrey Hepburn movies such as Funny Face and Charade, I tried to blend in with the effortlessly-chic Parisian women. When we arrived in the city I realized I was not the only one of my classmates with the same goal. Between school appointments, this fellow Fashionista spent her time strolling down the Champs-Élysées and through the Jardin des Tuileries in this classic ensemble.
This Fashionista still blends in with the other Parisians in her mostly black outfit, but she breaks up the monochrome palette with a fun polka-dot skirt. Polka-dots are a timeless print, but are also currently on-trend. This print made a prominent appearance in the collections of Burberry and Dolce&Gabbana this spring in the form of slim skirts and button-down shirts. Incorporate the look into your own wardrobe with this ASOS skirt, or for a more subtle touch of polka-dots, try these kate spade sneakers.
Since the temperatures are still cool in Paris, she keeps her legs and feet warm with black opaque tights and practical black flats. This similar pair of black shoes is comfortable for walking all over the city. The only hint of color in this outfit is her red lipstick, which instantly makes her look like a natural Parisian.
By keeping her outfit casual but still elegant, this Fashionista proves it’s not as hard as we think to look like Audrey in Paris. With a cute print like polka-dots, you can still be comfortable while wearing a stand out outfit.
