STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Paint Splattered Denim

Move along distressed denim, there is a new trend for the summer. It’s the DIY look of splattered denim. This look has been featured in several magazines this season and is for once an easy DIY that can actually be done all by yourself. The splattered paint has no patterns or guidelines and can take minutes to do. Grab a pair of shorts, a skirt or pants and some paint. Simply flick the paint onto your bottoms repeatedly until the look you want is achieved. If you’d rather pay for the look you can head over to your nearest fast fashion store or go online and buy a pair from Etsy.

This Fashionisto is wearing a one of a kind pair of shorts. He started with jeans, cut them to get the frayed edges and then added some paint. He took inspiration from the Ralph Lauren shorts but decided to do a more minimal version. He threw a few simple paint splatters to make the shorts more causal and easier to wear with anything on any given day. To complete his look, he paired his shorts with a simple striped shirt and some navy blue canvas shoes. His pink watch is the perfect finishing touch that pulls the outfit from looking drab to fab!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I like pairing together things that no one else would do. Most people might just wear the splattered pants with a plain white T-shirt, but I think the colorful stripes and pink watch go just as well together. So don’t be afraid to try the unthinkable.”
