STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: P.O.P. Stands For Pop Of Purple

‘Tis the season to be bold and bright which is trending everywhere and it is impossible to go wrong with adding a pop of color to your summer outfit. Bright and bold colors scream summer, but if paired wrong, they can become a scream of disaster. How do you prevent being caught by the Fashion Police when wearing bright colors? Simple, be simple.

Casually strolling through campus, this Fashionista’s outfit caught my eye, (might have been the POP in her outfit). She paired a violet colored top, with a gray knit cardigan, everyday cuffed jean shorts and cream-colored sneakers. Contrasting neutrals with a purple hued top, this Fashionista tastefully incorporated color into her daytime outfit. The textured feel of the gray knit sweater brings forward the smoothness of her purple top as it juxtaposes the cotton fabric. The light wash jean shorts tone down the look for a more relaxed feel adding on to the causal vibe of her sneakers.

Vibrant colors perfectly embody the season of summer, so why not add the spirit of summer into an outfit? This doesn’t mean one should throw away their grays, blacks and other darks. It simply means pair them with a bright bold piece, making it pop. Whether it be a top, like what this Fashionista wore or a statement necklace, color can immediately transform any neutral outfit into one that represents summer fashion.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid of bright colors this summer. Wear colors while still keeping your outfit breezy and comfortable for the hot weather.”
