STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Oversized Is The Only Size

There is a certain allure to the oversized trend. Perhaps it’s the coziness of the piece. Maybe it is how at ease we feel when wearing that piece. Sometimes, when people hear the term “oversized,” they may think of a huge, frumpy top that doesn’t flatter the figure at all. The truth is that everyone can do oversized. If worn correctly, the trend can certainly flatter the human figure. Oversized pieces also offer the opportunity for us to place an emphasis on another part of our body. There is only one rule when taking on this challenging trend: balance is key. For instance, a midi pencil skirt could be paired with an oversized cardigan. A bodycon maxi dress can look fabulous with an oversized duster coat.

But I recently spotted one unexpected pairing. It was a combination that is perfect for this hot summer season: oversized tops and cut-offs. They are two very different fashion trends that make one very awesome outfit. The look possesses the balanced ratio of one loose element and one tight element. This week’s Fashionista effortlessly paired an oversized neutral top with a bright pair of denim cut-offs. She accented the ensemble with minimalistic jewelry and an everyday tote bag. Check out those kicks on her feet! Our Fashionista threw in another surprising component into her outfit with a pair of white and very bright pair of sneakers. Use this advice and tackle the oversized trend. We promise that oversized will be the only size you wear!
