STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: On Wednesdays We Wear Pink…And Chambray

Fall is a season we all look forward to with great anticipation. I know I can’t wait to wear my favorite knits, hats, booties etc. However, it takes a while for the cold weather to really kick in. You may find it that the temperature constantly fluctuates, especially in the northeast, which makes it increasingly difficult to put an outfit together. What does one wear when it is freezing in the morning and then mildly warm by the late after noon? The answer to that question is wearing light garments than can be layered. All you have to do is strip away those layers as the temperature rises through out your day.

As featured in the pictures above, this Fashionista wears a light fabric: a chambray top. This may be the most versatile and convenient item of clothing in anyone’s wardrobe. You can wear this top in numerous ways: unbuttoned, buttoned, over a shirt, under oversized sweaters or vests etc. You can also cuff or roll the sleeves up if you are feeling a little warm, and if your feeling extra stylish, you can even tie the front.

However, besides its practical use for layering in the fall or winter, chambray is perfect for any other season. In the spring you can tuck it into skirts, or even use it as a cover-up in the summer. The number of ways you can use chambray is endless. Needless to say, chambray is never a bad idea. This Fashionista shows how layering is done right by wearing this chambray top under this light, gray cardigan. This cardigan serves as a staple in this outfit, yet it can simply be removed if the temperature gets a little too high.

This Fashionista’s outfit brings brings color to any fall day. She wears this chambray top with a pair of rose pink pants. Although you can wear chambray with almost any bottom, these pants are perfect for creating a little contrast and balance within this outfit. Another way to add a little creativity to this outfit, besides these colored pants, is by wearing this floppy hat. This hat keeps this boho-chic outfit super classy. It’s relaxed and elegant at the same time. These heeled booties also work in effect to dress this outfit up. To complete this look, she then wears a chained cross body clutch.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Take basic essentials and turn them into something that becomes the center of your outfit. It makes you looks more creative and fun. A top is just a top, until you add your own taste to it. Fashion is personal. That’s why it is important to not only create an outfit that defines you, but also fits you!”
