STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Olive You!

Summer is the best season to have dates and share feelings you have with the one you love. Don’t believe me? Just look at all the classic rom com movies. Danny and Sandy singing “Summer Nights” and going to the drive-in. Henry taking Lucy on a tour of the aquarium where he works, Tom and Summer going on a picnic in the park. It’s enough inspiration to grab your significant other and spend the next week going on different adventures. And if you have yet to see Grease, 50 First Dates or 500 Days of Summer, do so immediately with or without a partner.

Just like classic movies can inspire date ideas, classic wardrobe pieces can inspire your next date outfit! Take this Fashionista, who looks amazing in her olive green maxi skirt that hits her curves just right! Maxi skirts have become a staple in Fashionistas’ closets around the world as of late. If you haven’t purchased one yet, I recommend you do so immediately. With the ’70s trend coming back into play, you can go long and flowy or slim and flirty skirt like our Fashionista’s. She paired her olive green maxi skirt with a peek-a-boo lace top. Lace has been a recent trend and the way she brought old and new trends together works wonderfully. The detail in the lace is so intricate and beautiful. It really brings the right vibe if you’re going on a romantic date with someone you care about!

The way she accessories with neutral snakeskin sandals is a great way to bring another textual element to her outfit. It’s a simple and comfortable choice, especially when her feet aren’t the main focal point under her maxi skirt. I love her pastel blue nail polish as well. I’m a huge fan of not matching your manicure or pedicure to your outfit, it makes it pop more. This Fashionista mixes old with new once again by pairing her gold Alex & Ani bracelets with her silver Pandora charm bracelet. The tiny charms show aspects of her personality and what’s a good outfit without expressing who you are?

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear what makes you comfortable and makes you feel like you own the room. Even if it doesn’t ‘fit in’ with what your friends or peers are wearing, don’t be afraid to stand out.”
