STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Olive Green Machine

Bouchra Jarrar’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear features a few beautifully curated olive green militant jackets that may make many southern Californians wish “winter” existed in our geographic zone. This sunny state is truly living up to its name. We have been blessed to see the sun rise and fall with each passing day since the arrival of winter. It is collections like Jarrar’s that make me incredibly disappointed our winters never make it below 60 degrees; busting out some of these jackets would be considered absolutely insane in our circumstances.

However, although heavyweight jackets are out of the picture for us, we can incorporate some lighter elements to keep layering interesting this upcoming spring season. As you can see with our Fashionista, she wears an intricate detailed black and white dress paired with the military-inspired olive jacket. She went on to add some brown ankle boots, which pair nicely with the green of her jacket. They are also a great everyday boot while going to class or running a few simple errands. She finishes her look by adding a simple nude structured handbag. Living in warmer climates, it’s easy to simply add a light jacket or cardigan over a summer dress to keep us a bit warm.

Overall, it is a very casual look that can comfortably accommodate many people,  especially those who love looking put together with just a few simple garments.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love wearing dresses; I try incorporating them as much as possible into my wardrobe!”
