The statement piece has become every Fashionista’s wardrobe necessity. Whether it be a statement dress, statement necklace or statement shoes, wearing something that stands out is definitely the thing to do this fall.
I found this fabulous Fashionista strutting her stuff to a campus Greek life event this weekend. At first, her necklace caught my eye as it stood out so prominently against her LBD. Then I noticed the cute clutch and her funky stilettos as well. Each colorful item popped against her short black dress demanding attention, yet there wasn’t an ounce of tension between all of her standout pieces.
Our Fashionista this week took some risks in putting together her look and was not afraid to make multiple statements in one outfit. I must say that it most certainly paid off! Here’s some ways that you all can declare, “Yes to the statement piece!”
The best way to start off in the world of bold accessories is with the statement necklace. The teal color of the one shown on our Fashionista is very popular right now. Try a necklace like this one from Forever 21 with a coral dress and tan and gold gladiators for a fun and flirty look. If you’re ready to go even bigger, rock a pair of animal print statement heels and an edgy clutch with black skinny jeans and a peplum top for your next GNO. Now if you really want to step up your statements this fall, dare to try a statement dress! Go big with a little number like this SABO skirt dress paired with chunky pumps and a bold cuff bracelet.
It’s also great to remember that standout wardrobe items don’t need to break the bank! I have found some of my favorite statement jewelry, shoes and handbags at costs that fit perfectly within my college student budget. Stores like Francesca’s, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters have endless amounts of statement pieces so always keep an eye out.
Day or night, it is always the right time to “statementize” your outfit (and make up new statement words). Use clothing, accessories, shoes, whatever you need to in order to bring standout elements into your ensemble. Start small with one item or show off your fashion fearlessness with an array of daring pieces! However you make your fashion statement this fall, be sure to stay bold, brave and beautiful, Fashionistas!
