STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Observe And Integrate

For most Fashionista/o’s, style inspiration often comes from other people and wanting to emulate their styles. Seeing a style and recreating it with your own wardrobe is one of the easiest ways to try out new fashion trends. I am in no way saying this is a bad thing, but what about fashion designers that want to create something completely new? Where does their inspiration come from? I want to challenge you to find inspiration in other aspects of life rather than just other stylish people. Try looking at music, art, nature, technology—whatever drives your passion!

This Fashionista was clearly inspired by the changing seasons. It’s hard not to notice the little green buds and flowers starting to sprout on the trees, and she definitely took flower child to the next level on this beautiful spring day.

It is finally warm enough to comfortably break out our favorite spring dresses. This dress perfectly encompasses spring with its pale pink coloring and little yellow flower details. The fabric and cut are perfect for fluttering in the wind and making the pattern dance around you.

This Fashionista redefines the usual flower crown with her choice in hairstyle. Rather than weave real plants together and make an accessory, she literally weaved her own hair into a braided crown. Integrating flower buds to the mix is the pinnacle of this sweet, romantic look.

Brown (faux) leather sandals and a clasped pouch are great whimsical additions to this spring style. The pouch bag makes me think of something a young girl or even a fairy would use to carry their little belongings. The soft leather adds to the sweet wanderlust theme.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Honestly, just love the way you dress; it is an extension of yourself. Not everyone is going to like it, but that should not stop your self-expression. And learn how to sew! It is super helpful for those thrift store finds!”
