I’ll admit it, when I think about nude, Carrie Bradshaw’s naked dress immediately comes to mind. Nude is such a seductive color. Most typically, it is the color of your underwear, stockings or your slip. So how do you turn this trend into a casual daytime look? There are many ways to wear the neutral shade and look quite sophisticated. Today’s Fashionista did it by wearing nude and black together. Nude is the perfect staring color to build an outfit with because it goes with just about every color. This also makes nude a great choice because it can transition into different seasons.
Today’s Fashionista has gone for a very proper, grown-up style using nude and a pop of red that fine tunes her ensemble. Accessories are key players in an outfit with nude. She could easily take off her belt later for date night or drinks with friends. Her neutral skirt does wonders for her petite frame and her matching nude heels make her legs look like they go on for days (I know this tip well because I’m 5”2′).
Replicating this look will be a cinch. You can find nude skirts just about anywhere. If you like the tutu princess version, try out this Cupcake Artist Skirt. If you want a bodycon skirt for night time, check out this Corin Pencil Skirt. Matching nudes can be difficult so I asked our Fashionista what she did that got her nudes to match. She suggests that you wear the nude piece you’d like to match while shopping. This seems simple but sometimes the simplest of answers pass us by!
For those of us who can’t wear heels, I would go with this Lambskin Leather Circle Skirt with these Bamboo Zelous Chain Flats. For everyone else, go for this Rostrum Skirt and these black and nude sandals. So remember, if you need a sophisticated outfit, don’t just turn to black. Go for nude!
