STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Nothing ‘Short’ Of Classy

Although we might not be ready for summer to end, the autumn fashion collections that are currently hitting the runway are making Fashionistas and Fashionistos crave the new styles, trends and innovative ideas expressed by designers. With a return of the ’80s, and ethnic, earthy tones, fall fashion will be a melting pot of unique trends and individual experimentation. This Fashionista took her own take on upcoming fall trends by mixing textures, and incorporating colors from Pantone’s official list.

Donning a lacy, black, cap sleeve top, she twisted a regular summer outfit into a very classy one. Her taste of jewelry was impeccable and her knack for accessorizing showed. By layering simple bracelets and rings, and adding in a sweet, pearl necklace, she took it to a classy level and topped it all of with some trendy black sunnies, and oxblood flats. But it was her floral, flowy shorts that were the highlight of the outfit, this piece gave her ensemble some definition and added in several trendy colors for the upcoming season. These shorts strayed from typical jean cut-offs and were replaced with loose, viscose trousers, a trend that has been prevalent within the last few years. The wonderful thing about these kind of shorts, is how versatile they are, giving the wearer the chance to dress them up for an event, or down for a casual day of shopping. A style like this is an asset to every Fashionista’s or Fashionisto’s closet because of the flattering cut and unique range of outfit combinations.

Sometimes though, with so much versatility, it can be hard to find the perfect combination that suits you. This Fashionista’s texture blend of lace and viscose is visually pleasing and her outfit embodies class and style, leaving room for dressing down by switching the top for something like a solid, jewel-toned crop top, or dressing up by throwing on a pair of stylish wedges. Try pairing a pair of flowy shorts with a fitted top that has bell sleeves. This gives off a strong ’70s vibe, and you’ll be rocking a popular summer trend. Pair it with some woven loafers or lace-up gladiator sandals to channel the laid back image. Top it off with a simple hair chain headband like this one, or a simple, long necklace set like this!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When in doubt, black out. You can’t go wrong with a black top or pants. Also, avoid wearing accessories on your non-dominant hand. Nothing is more annoying than jewelry getting in the way when you’re doing activities!”
