STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: No Longer Summer, Not Quite Fall

With fall officially upon us, we’re all excited to break out the chunky sweaters and leather boots; until we remember, it’s still a sold 85 degrees out. Living in Florida means that although the calendar may say that it is fall, the weather hasn’t quite gotten the memo and the sub-tropical feeling is still lingering. Just because we can’t layer our sweaters or rock our infinity scarves quite yet, doesn’t mean that fall colors can’t be incorporated into our everyday ensembles. Fall is here, and we’ll dress like it!

This Fashionista welcomed the new season by wearing one of fall’s most popular hues: burgundy. Burgundy is a staple in any successful wardrobe, whether it be a sweater, hat or skirt. This Fashionista chose to show her true colors by rocking a burgundy, A-line button-up skirt. This popular skirt trend survived the summer and has officially made its way into fall. The corduroy material and subtle burgundy color brings a fall feeling, while the shorter hemline enables this outfit to survive through the balmy Florida autumn.

This Fashionista added a black, off-the-shoulder top that brought with it a lingering sense of summer. This top adds a sense of fun that keeps this ensemble from seeming too formal.  Tucking in this top gives the outfit a polished look and lends a flattering silhouette as this Fashionista crosses through campus. It’s finally boot season again so this Fashionista added black leather booties to compliment her look. Finishing off with an adorably feminine leather purse that complements her booties, this Fashionista is ready for anything.

This look is perfect for when the weather hasn’t quite turned yet, but can easily make the transition for colder weather. Just add some tights and a fitted jacket to make this outfit perfect for surviving crisp air and cool breezes!
