Style Advice of the Week

Many people think that is horrible to wear animal fur to cover our bodies, while others might think it is only for glamorous people. If we look back, fur was the best material to keep people warm during low temperatures in places where there weren’t even heaters.

Over the years, fur became an asset for the cold season. Designers started to mix them with other materials like leather and cotton to create coats, vests and jackets, combined with accessories like belts or scarves.

We have seen fur walk the runways of Gucci, Ellie Saab, Emilio Pucci and Marni in casual day-to-night outfits. These wonderful creations have inspired many people to apply the looks for street-wear.

Today’s Fashionista shows how there shouldn’t be fear to wear fur, especially for a regular school day. She is wearing skinny jeans, UGG boots, a creamy faux fur jacket and a Carolina Herrera bag with brown, cream and red details.

Fur can be worn as an oversized coat with leather leggings, as a casual cream sweater with cotton pants or in a leather jacket with tights and denim shorts. Chiffon blouses or simple long sleeve shirts are options for layers underneath. Fur will keep you warm and make a sassy change to your whole outfit.

“Wearing fur may not be politically correct, but being comfortable with one’s self is the definition of chic. I’d rather be chic,” said Stephanie Green, Huffington Post journalist.
