STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: No Boho Fomo

Coachella is here which only means one thing–festival season has hit the ground running again. Between flower crowns, body chains and flash tattoos, we’re on a one-way track to a lot more boho styles around campus. No worries, just because you can’t make it to a festival, doesn’t mean you should miss out on this free-spirited trend!

Summer is almost in sight and rocking a bohemian style is the perfect way to embrace the carefree ideals of summer. That’s exactly what this Fashionista did, her outfit is fully infused with the influence of the late ’60s and early ’70s peace movement while adding a modern touch to make this style her own. She is wearing all of the staples which adds up to the relaxed, yet put together boho vibe–a gorgeous headpiece, great eyewear, a floaty maxi skirt and an all around easy going tone. The basics of this outfit are simple, a free-flowing maxi skirt to create a “going with the flow” aura and a fitted top to compliment the skirt. Then she builds on the outfit with accessories such as a set of golden leaves in her hair, a pair of retro reflective sunglasses and a signature Sakroots backpack. The backpack’s canvas material supplements this casual, earthy tone while its design push for the ’70s-inspired peace message. Finally, to finish her look, this Fashionista added a purple/red matte lipstick to her makeup. The dark colored lipstick contrasts the neutral tones in her look to add a pop of color and draw attention to her lovely smile.

Festival season has gotten everyone in the boho look and with summer around the corner, it’s the perfect time. There’s no better time to look carefree and one with nature. Not only is this outfit comfortable and stylish, it can also easily be revamped if any last minute concert plans pop up!
