On a dreary, rainy day, this Fashionisto’s outfit was just about the only pop of blue I saw all day. With the looming gray skies, this ensemble really caught my eye. This Fashionisto sported a dark royal blue collared shirt with matching suede loafers. I instantly thought of Elvis Presley and his song “Blue Suede Shoes.” His shorts were a lighter blue that featured the royal blue in the plaid design.
Monochromatic styles covered the spring 2013 runways from head-to-heel cobalt at the Gucci show to bright green at Stella McCartney. I know that people can be skeptical about being too matchy-matchy, however it is easy to successfully pull of this look. Currently, one of my favorite looks for girls is the matching shorts and blazer. Go for the all white look and even add a white blouse under the blazer for a crisp clean look that is perfect for summer. Guys, take advice from this Fashionisto and pair a solid shirt with lightly patterned shorts, topped off with matching shoes—or even a hat.
This Fashionisto’s suede loafers really caught my attention, as they are among some of the most versatile shoes on the market for both men and women. Comfortable and easy, loafers offer a fashionable alternative to casual sneakers. Loafers are a trend that keeps circulating and will not be going anywhere anytime soon. They are extremely versatile, which makes them perfect for every occasion—appropriate enough for the office, but also trendy and casual for a night out. I really liked this Fashionisto’s unique and fun pair of loafers. You can find a similar pair at ALDO. If you’re looking to splurge, check out these Prada suede driving loafers at Nordstrom.
Amidst all the floral and nautical prints of summer, opt for a sleek and crisp monochromatic look instead!
