STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mix & Match

As it is officially winter and the temperatures keep getting lower each day, many find it hard to stand out while also keeping warm. For those of us who are truly dedicated to fashion, the weather cannot stop us from looking fresh, fierce and ready to take on anything.

For as long as I can remember, there has been talk about whether pairing blacks and browns together is a crime or it is simply okay to do. I still do not know how I feel about the two hues together, yet when I saw this Fashionista on a Wednesday afternoon, I soon fell in love with her ensemble and her ability to rock the color schemes. It reminded me of a classic 1960s look of a young woman heading to work on a cold winter day. Feminine and sophisticated.

With the temperature at a bone chilling 21 degrees Fahrenheit, nothing would stop this Fashionista from looking immaculate.  She was seen wearing a black skater mini skirt paired with black tights to keep semi-warm. A white windowpane button down, pulled together with a tan pea coat which almost looked like a class tan trench coat. To finish off her look she wore light brown booties complete with a white checkered scarf that matched the hues of her outfit. The look is sophisticated yet laid back with her hair down and loose. She replicates class and ease.

I found her ability to mix and match brown hues with black and white to be impeccable and inspiring. She also stands out on a cold winter day, ready to take on anything that may come her way.

What is YOUR STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Sometimes when struggling to figure out what you are comfortable with, you must look to others and test it yourself. With colors that you are not sure will look good together, sometimes you must just do that—trial and error. After all, the world is your oyster and you can do anything.”
