STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Miss New Booties

The early parts of spring are always a super confusing time for my wardrobe. I am constantly questioning if it is too cold outside for a dress or too warm outside for jeans. I usually get this guessing game wrong and end up wearing a skirt while it is still 40 degrees outside. But it’s okay because I look good, right?

Unlike me, this Fashionista won the guessing game and stepped out in this dress on a beautiful, warm spring day. She nailed the early spring look perfectly. Although she is wearing a dress, she is still incorporating winter elements into her outfit to create tthe seamless transition between spring and winter.

She’s prepared with the flannel wrapped around her waist in case the day suddenly turns cold. But, the cream color of the flannel keeps it from making the outfit a fall look like the traditional plaid flannel would do. Even though the dress is black, the lighter elements including the gold accessories also help to make it a bright, spring outfit.

My favorite part of the Fashionista’s outfit is her booties. Booties and boots are no longer reserved for winter outfits. The cream color of these booties makes them light enough for a spring day. Wearing them in early springs allows her to progress from winter boots and eventually move into sandals as it gets warmer outside.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to incorporate winter accessories into your spring wardrobe to make the transition from chunky sweaters to cardigans easier.”
