The first couple of weeks of school have been really tough here at Whittier. No it’s not because classes are hard but because the weather has been unbearably hot. The heat has been so distracting that the library has extended their hours so students can study at night as opposed to the day. Not only has the heat affected our studying habits, but also how we dress. Students are struggling to keep cool as they walk even the shortest distances on campus. The key is to be dressed with minimal effort but add some texture and color with accessories.
Although a tank top and shorts would normally come across as bland, I admired how this Fashionista used a color scheme and gold accessories to make this outfit more chic. For starters you can never go wrong with pairing white and black. White shorts are perfect for hot weather because light colors attract less sunlight. They also act as a great canvas to be worn with many different tops. If you are going to wear anything in black just make sure it is in a light and airy fabric such as the tank top worn by this Fashionista. Sandals are ideal for hot weather, but this is an opportunity to spice up your outfit. Stray away from your ordinary thong sandals and stride for a pair that has embellishments such as studs or beads. Wearing too many accessories can be a little uncomfortable when it’s hot so instead opt for one or two things that will make a statement.
Not only will you feel fresh but you will look fresh too!
