STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Maximize Your Style

The beauty of neutral colors is that they can be flattering for many people with many different body types. Classic black and white pieces almost never go out of style. Living in New York City, I’ve learned the necessity of having numerous black and white articles of clothing. It can be difficult to try and compete with the bright lights and glamorous outfits of other New Yorkers. It can also be expensive buying new clothes after they go out of style when you’re living in one of the most expensive cities in the world. However, neutral articles of clothing can be staples in your wardrobe while also keeping with the changing trends.

Despite how amazing neutrals may seem, when the sun is out and summer days are long, you might want to spice up your look every once in a while. This Fashionista demonstrates the perfect way to keep a summer outfit modest, but still chic. She wears a long cobalt blue maxi skirt that boldly screams summer while still retaining modesty. Her lightweight white top has solid, black stripes that give the look a classic girly feel. She also pairs the outfit with a rhinestone studded necklace and matching bracelet to add even more of a feminine touch. Her black cloth flats bring the look together nicely by highlighting the black accessories and black detailing on her top.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love to wear neutrals, especially black. However, it can feel plain and boring after a while. So, I like to add splashes of colors that tie the neutrals together and make it more summery!”
