STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Max It Out

Designer Yves Saint Laurent once said, “I have always believed that fashion was not only a way to make women more beautiful, but also to reassure them, give them confidence.” It is this attitude that made him brilliant at what he did for the fashion world and the people who consume it. Confidence cannot be achieved simply by putting on a pretty skirt, but it does help make those days where you need a little help possible.

I spotted this Fashionista on a street corner in Princeton, New Jersey and she had a smile on her face that radiated confidence. What I love about her look is the lack of structure. Everything is flowing and her maxi skirt floats around her as she walks. She pairs her tye-dyed maxi skirt with a blue lace tank top and a small black cross-body bag.

Maxi skirts are such an important trend because they allow for comfort and mobility in fashion. Playing with a free-flowing bohemian look gives you the freedom to dress for the summer sun without being weighed down by structure. My favorite bohemian brand and a big proponent of maxi skirts is Free People. Their look book makes me want to run through a field of flowers with my long skirt flowing behind me. Rocking this trend is a breeze for this Fashionista.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear what makes you feel happy! If you feel good in it, then its always going to look good on you.”
