STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Made For Body Shape

Everyone has those days when we wake up tired from not enough sleep and are unable to muster the energy to plan an outfit. College is full of busy nights with studying, meetings or just making time to catch up with friends. It takes effort to coordinate separates with jewelry, shoes and the current weather conditions. This Fashionista caught my attention by having a simple yet cute outfit that was perfect for a full day of classes and meetings.

Her outfit consisted of a burgundy scoop neck shirt, thinly knit black cardigan with three-quarter sleeves, cuffed dark blue jeans and black suede ankle boots. The pendant necklace stood out to me due to the color contrast between the silver and the burgundy shirt. Her outfit was also a good fit with her body shape. Her minimal makeup, which consisted of foundation, mascara and lip gloss, allowed the focus to remain on her ensemble.

Also, this Fashionista has a short torso and long legs, so a long shirt that covers the upper part of her jeans makes her body look more proportional. She discussed how it is hard for her to dress sometimes due to her height and body shape.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I like to pick outfits based on my body shape and what makes me look and feel best. An outfit that looks great on a celebrity might not look great on me, so I always make sure to try on clothes in the dressing room even if there is a long line.”
