I don’t about you, but I’m feeling summer! Guys, cancel your summer plans because they just got a complete makeover. Well, the wardrobe part of it did. Your end of spring and summer go to pieces are tanks, flat front shorts and plaid wovens. I can totally tell that you are geeking out right now, am I right?
This post is all about the plaid wovens. When people think of plaid they think of cowboy boots and cowboys… which could be the case; I’m from a small town in the country so you do see a lot of people dressing in plaid wovens when they are doing farm work. In the world of high fashion, however, I see plaid as a completely different look.
I love wearing plaid with my boyfriend shorts and a simple black tee underneath it and, of course, adding my Converse sneakers to complete the look! But this post is about the guys! I think that plaid is an edgy rocker look that anyone can pull off. My favorite types of plaid are the ones that are classic colors, like blue and red. I also enjoy the plaid to not look like a picnic table cloth. Don’t get me wrong, the non-traditional colors and patterns used in plaid are great, but I enjoy a classic look.
This week’s Fashionisto completely encompassed the rocker plaid look. He choose to keep his plaid in the traditional field with the colors and the print of the plaid. For all of you guys reading, this look is super easy to achieve and you too can pull it off with some helpful hints! Check out this cool classic plaid fro American Eagle. It has all the bells and whistles that any classic plaid would have. I can also point you in the direction of a non-traditional plaid that are on trend. I would check out the plaid at J.Crew. I think this plaid is right on trend for spring, the brightness of it and the pastel color is perfect. A great way to make your plaid more rocker like is to add a cool graphic tee or band tee, like this one from Topman. I would try this under a traditional plaid.
