Style Advice of the Week

With the sun back out in Los Angeles after a few days of rain, I’m becoming more excited for spring. Now when I think of spring, the song “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield comes to mind. This song is the ultimate representation of the feeling of freedom brought on by the this wonderful season. This Fashionista has captured a similar feeling with the pieces from her outfit.

Here, this Fashionista is wearing a fitted, lace top with high-waisted black jeans. The body-conscious fit of these pieces nicely accentuates her slender figure. She wasn’t wearing any accessories, but it went along with the minimal-bohemian vibe given off by her monochromatic outfit. If she were to add accessories, a thin-chain necklace is all she would need. This Fashionista completes the look with floral, tapestry combat boots.

For an easy, romantic twist to this Fashionista’s outfit, add a floppy hat. There’s something about lace and a floppy hat that illicits an enchanted vibe. Give your hair some body under your hat; curls, loose waves or even a side braid can add on to your whimsical look. If hats aren’t for you, look for a simple, detailed headband.

For a date night look, swap the jeans for a simple, black circle skirt. You all know I’m one for textured pieces, so opt for this corduroy skirt from American Apparel. As for shoes, anything goes. Combat boots, flats, sandals and heels are all totally viable options. Complete the look by adding tons of thin, metal midi rings.

Release your inhibitions by getting some lace into your wardrobe this spring!
