STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Lots Of Layers

March 4th, 2016 at 2:00am

This article is dedicated to all of my Fashionistas/os, who are suffering from the severe weather that Oneonta has had this past week. We’ve been lucky enough, thus far, to not have any snow. However, our frigid air has had no mercy on us this week. Reaching temperatures of -18 degrees, it’s hard to stay trendy when all you’re concerned about is staying warm.

This Fashionista had the right idea. Layers are definitely the key to staying warm without giving into the sweatpants and sweatshirt look. She paired a black pant with a long sleeve shirt. To add even more warmth, as well as style, she threw on a wool sweater wrap. Another crucial item to have during the winter at Oneonta is some form of head/ear protection. The winds are brutal and without this protective headband this Fashionista’s ears would be throbbing in numb pain.

I love this entire Fashionista’s look. Her ensemble is both effortless and chic. She really nailed an outfit that makes her look great without compromising her comfort. There’s nothing worse than sitting in class and walking around campus all day in an outfit that isn’t comfortable or warm. Winter is almost at its end, but for now make sure to take this Fashionista’s advice and add on the layers.

What is YOUR STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My main focus during the winter is to stay warm. That’s why I usually try to avoid wearing stiff jeans. A pair of material pants or fleece lined leggings help to keep me warm and comfy with out wearing bulky sweats.”
