Style Advice of the Week

I swore that after middle school light-washed jeans were a thing of the past. Over the last couple seasons all we’ve seen was super dark denim and faux leather for all occasions, but the lighter jeans are making a comeback. Originally I wasn’t a fan but was soon won over when I saw this Fashionista rocking her chic holey jeans.

Her look is a perfect transition from winter to the beginning of spring. Being that some days aren’t quite warm enough to jump right into your shorts and tanks, a slow transition with lighter colors and loose fits are a perfect starting point. I love that she chose a cropped sweater to go with her light skinnies. It takes your typical winter sweater look and gives it something fresh and unique. I think cropped sweaters are a perfect staple for spring and can be paired with so many looks.

I also loved her all black high top Converse sneakers. It gives her look a little bit of edge all while keeping it casual and simple. This is the type of look I find most suitable for your everyday attire, plus it’s an alternative to wearing leggings or harem pants on your relaxed days.

For a look similar to hers, check out this cropped sweater from Urban Outfitters. It is a perfect color for spring and would be a great addition to any closet. For a light denim option check out this distressed pair from Gap or this chic option from J Brand.

Whether you think light denim jeans are your thing or not, it’s worth it to try other fits and washes. In my opinion, it’s better to have a colorful and versatile closet to better create different looks.
