Style Advice of the Week

We’ve finally reached the point where the temperature has consistently been in the double digits for at least two weeks. However, it’s not quite time to break out the thin tank tops. While it may be time to shed those heavy winter coats, wind-chill will have you reaching for some lighter outerwear.

This time of year opens up a lot of options for fashion. It’s not so cold that you have to squeeze into tights with every outfit, but it’s not too warm to throw on the occasional sweater. This Fashionista effortlessly embraces the seasonal transition with her simple and light outerwear. At the base of her outfit are a pair of taupe skinny jeans and a simple black and white striped shirt. For accessories, she is wearing a pair of black leather ankle boots with gold platforms, peach-colored translucent sunglasses and an oversized black leather tote with rose gold accents. As outerwear, she is wearing a simple white scarf and a textured black leather jacket. These pieces can keep her warm without any hassle.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to light outerwear. If you are into a classic chic style like this Fashionista, a neat leather jacket is the perfect choice. For someone with a grunge style, a light military-inspired utility jacket might be a good choice. Pair a cute, patterned pullover sweater with a denim button-up and a statement necklace, if you’re a preppy Fashionista. A boho Fashionista might want to pair a cute floral dress with a loose kimono sweater. Whatever your style is, take advantage of this weather while it’s still around. This is definitely the least restrictive of all the seasons, so take the opportunity to let your sense of style shine through.
