Style Advice of the Week

Jell-O molds and cone shaped bras can stay in the ‘50s, but let’s definitely bring back the high-waisted trend. This Fashionista swears by the cut. Spotted at New York Fashion Week, high-waisted pants have made an appearance. Designers from Rodarte to rag & bone cat walked down the runway in endless pairs of high-waisted pants. When choosing between cuts, always go with the high-waist. This Fashionista says they are just as comfortable and effortlessly dress up an outfit.

Cheap Monday made the featured black high-waisted jeans. I love that the Fashionista paired them with a white crop top. It reminds me of an outfit fresh from the Balenciaga runway. Whether it’s a crop top or a long shirt tucked in, anything goes with the high-waist. American Apparel is totally on board with this trend. Their high-waisted pants come in over ten colors (get one of each and say goodbye to your laundry days). I am completely in love with these high rise pleated pants by Free People. They are super sophisticated and will instantly turn your classroom wardrobe into a professional CEO’s wardrobe. Forever 21 got creative with this pair of high-waisted pants. The tribal print is super cool. Plus I love that the elasticity is not only on the waist but on the bottom of the legs as well. The slouchy fabric makes for a relaxed runway look.

So if you haven’t already, I guarantee your closet is begging you to add a high-waisted piece to your wardrobe.
