STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Leather Weather

January 22nd, 2016 at 2:00am

If I had a dollar for every time that I’ve seen a guy wearing baggy sweatpants tucked into mid-calves I’d be a rich woman. Unfortunately, that is absolutely not the case and I never seem to find the look any less offensive.

I understand that you’re trying to stay warm and dry, but I promise you that there are better ways to do so—just follow the example of this Fashionisto. Winter fashion doesn’t have to be drab. Grab those essentials to keep you warm and then experiment with accessories.

This Fashionisto utilized a stylish sweater and a pair of maroon joggers as the base of his look and took it to the next level with a warm, white beanie and his favorite chukka boots. Sweaters and joggers are winter staples, but the possibilities of how you can dress them up are endless. Start by finding a versatile sweater and pair of joggers that can be dressed up, or dressed down and then go from there.

A quality pair of boots can be an investment, but is well worth it. Something similar to the chukka boots that this Fashionisto was sporting can take a look from bad to RAD real quick. Replacing an old, beat up pair of sneakers with a fancier pair of leather boots is an effortless way to look significantly more put together.

If you’re looking to go the extra mile, or you simply get cold really easily, make sure to get yourself a beanie. Neutral colors like white, grey and black go with almost anything and will quickly become a wardrobe staple, adding a little extra touch to any look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep it simple, yet elegant.”
