STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Layering Textures

While the sizzling hot sun is much appreciated while laying on the beach or sitting poolside, most of us (or maybe it’s just me) would rather be relaxing inside reading a book and basking in the cool air. But it’s a whole different story when the sun sets on the horizon and the temperature drops to that perfect degree. Like this Fashionista, I was ready to go exploring. The leisure of summer evenings allows for an endless list of possibilities and adventures, which is why it’s crucial to dress comfortably and versatilely.

Comfort doesn’t mean that you have to stick to basics and follow fashion norms. This Fashionista plays with different textures from her white lace sleeveless top to her black and white plaid button-up. Although playing with different textures could be tricky, keeping a controlled color palette like this Fashionista keeps the outfit from being over bearing. She is decked out from head to toe in black and white with a neutral gray cross-body bag. This outfit looks effortless and if I do say so myself, she does look pretty comfortable. I especially enjoy her white slip-on Vans. Her black skinny jeans offer a nice contrast to the white.

While some nights we want to get dolled up and go out with our friends, there are other nights where you just want to adventure and follow the stars. Layered and textured outfits such as the Fashionista’s above will allow you the comfort and style to conquer whatever summer nights have in store for you.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Comfort doesn’t have to be boring, change it up by mixing and layering different textures to spice up your outfit.”
